Need to Foster Greater Parent Involvement in Your School?

When parents are involved - good schools become great schools. This manifests itself in their own student's achievement & improving the education system affecting the local school community.

  • Our communities are diverse in terms of needs, ethnicity, history and community - recognizing different circumstances and ways to reach out to parents to support them to take on leadership opportunities in their local school and school board.
  • Parents need increased awareness of school activities and initiatives - there are many ways at various levels to be or get involved.
  • Parents need to understand how to advocate for themselves & their child to address local needs and systemic barriers in the school community.
  • Parents need to know how to make their voices heard, with diplomocacy and political activism when necessary.
